The X-Road Community Expert Group provides an opportunity to get more involved in the X-Road development activities. The group gives a new collaboration platform to provide feedback on the development roadmap, backlog prioritisation, how certain features should work, etc.
At the same time, the group gives NIIS a direct communication channel with the community that opens the door for more direct dialogue with X-Road users and contributors worldwide. The Community Expert Group's role is supportive, and it doesn't have decision-making power.
The group is first established for one year. The decision concerning the continuation of the group is taken based on the results and experiences gained.
How do the meetings work?
The X-Road Community Expert Group meetings are organised online once a month. Microsoft Teams is used as the meeting platform, and the meeting duration is one hour. Every session includes a summary of ongoing development activities, discussion on open topics, and the community's questions. NIIS is responsible for facilitating the meetings. The meetings will not be recorded (except for taking the meeting minutes). All the materials (e.g., meeting agendas) for the group are publicly available in NIIS Confluence.
WHO can join the meetings?
The group is open to anyone who meets the following criteria:
✅ has completed the X-Road Fundamentals training in the X-Road Academy
✅ has practical experience in using or developing X-Road
✅ is motivated to participate in the development of X-Road actively
✅ is a member of the X-Road Community.
Participating in the meetings requires registration that is valid until cancelled. There’s no need to register for each session separately. The meeting details will be sent in advance to all the registered participants by email.
